From March 11–14, Modulina proudly took part in MIPIM 2025 in Cannes – one of the world’s most prestigious real estate events, where future-forward ideas, bold innovations, and sustainable solutions meet on a global stage.

And this year, we were right there – sharing the exhibition area with other exhibitors at the Ukraine Pavilion.

Being an exhibitor – a defining moment

Having our material at the exhibition area at MIPIM was a major milestone for us as a company and as passionate advocates of biobased construction.

Ukraines booth built with real Modulina’s straw panels

We didn’t just bring flyers or digital presentations – we brought the real thing: our authentic straw panels! The very same panels we use to build breathable, energy-efficient, and healthy homes across Europe.

“What struck me most was the open-mindedness of people – they were ready for change. They saw the potential in biobased materials like straw and recognized that the future of construction lies in embracing natural, sustainable solutions.”Kateryna Pylypchuk, Modulina Straw Panels Business Strategist.

Visitors could touch the panels, feel the texture, ask questions, and discover the potential of natural building materials up close. Many were surprised. Some were amazed. But all were curious – and that led to countless meaningful conversations about about how biobased materials like straw are transforming the construction landscape.

Real estate expert Joes van der Wouw, a well known figure in Belgium was in LOVE with our panels:
“The smell… Better than Dior or Chanell.”

A heartfelt thank you to Ukraine

Our journey to MIPIM 2025 would not have been possible without the generous support of Ukraine, who invited us to be part of their pavilion and made space for us to showcase what we believe in.

We are truly grateful for this opportunity – not only for the platform it gave us, but also for the spirit of solidarity and innovation it represented.

Joining the conversation – the power of natural materials

Modulina was also present in the conference programme, sharing our voice in discussions about sustainable building practices, innovative materials, and the human impact of architecture.

“The real beauty of MIPIM 2025 wasn’t just the opportunity to present Modulina, but the chance to be part of a broader conversation about how the built environment can lead the charge in climate action. Every conversation we had there only strengthened our resolve to continue pushing for greener, healthier construction.” Kateryna Pylypchuk in FIABCI “Building a future-ready” conference at MIPIM.

Together with our partners in Rebuilding Ukrainian Cities Green 2030 program – @Alissa Bankovska CEO of SynchroSpace and head of the RUCG committee in @FIABCI-Ukraine – we presented how straw panels are not just ecological – they are smart, scalable, and deeply aligned with modern building needs and can become a real tool for the green rebuilding processes in cooperative efforts of the Rebuild Green programme of FIABCI-Ukraine, SynchroSpace and Modulina in Ukraine.

From reducing embodied carbon to improving indoor air quality and creating a more nurturing living environment, straw is proving to be much more than an alternative – it’s a game changer.

Zaha Hadid Architects endorses Modulina’s Green vision

One of the most thrilling moments at MIPIM 2025 was when Paolo Matteuzzi, Director of Zaha Hadid Architects, joined us on stage for a dynamic discussion about Rebuild Ukraine Green efforts.

*Zaha Hadid Architects, renowned for its pioneering and futuristic designs, is one of the most influential forces in global architecture.

Paolo’s presence added significant prestige to our presentation, reflecting his genuine interest in Modulina’s work. His endorsement emphasized not only our innovative approach but also the growing global recognition of biobased materials. Paolo’s support is a clear sign that leading figures in architecture are increasingly drawn to sustainable, eco-friendly construction practices, marking a crucial moment in the evolution of the industry. His interest in our vision reinforces the importance of driving forward greener, more sustainable building solutions.

Looking ahead

MIPIM 2025 wasn’t just a showcase of what we do – it was a powerful reminder that the future of construction is biobased, and it’s already being built. We return from Cannes feeling inspired, more committed than ever to our mission, and grateful for the opportunity to be part of this movement.

The conversations we had, the support we received, and the connections we made will drive us forward as we continue our work to build homes that are not only energy-efficient but also healthier for people and the planet.

The world is ready for change, and together, we’re making it happen. The future is biobased – and Modulina is proud to be leading the way!
