We are thrilled to share the success of the “Nest House” project, a pioneering biogenic housing prototype that was proudly showcased at the Circular Lab during Roskilde Festival 2024. This innovative initiative was a collaborative effort between Modulina and 17 incredible partners, all united by a shared vision to redefine modern living through sustainable practices.

A New Way of Living and Building
Nest House isn’t just another tiny home, it’s a bold statement on living in harmony with our environment. Built entirely from biogenic materials like clay, straw, and timber, it is a living example of how homes can be beautiful and environmentally friendly. By focusing on natural, renewable resources, we’ve created a space that meets the needs of its inhabitants and respects the planet.

The project also embraced upcycling and reuse, transforming discarded materials into valuable elements of the home’s design. From repurposed windows to salvaged wooden panels, every aspect of Nest House reflects a commitment to sustainability and circularity.

Architectural Innovation at Its Best
Nest House was designed with modularity and prefabrication in mind, allowing for flexible configurations and easy scalability. The project’s focus on Design for Assembly and Disassembly ensures that every component can be easily maintained, upgraded, or repurposed, extending the life of the materials and reducing waste.

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Partners
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our partners for their dedication, expertise, and passion that made Nest House possible. Your contributions have not only helped create a sustainable housing prototype but have also set a new standard for eco-friendly construction. We’re proud to have worked alongside such a forward-thinking group, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration in future projects.

The Journey Continues
After a successful debut at the Roskilde Festival, Nest House will be relocated to Tunnelfabrikken in Copenhagen’s Nordhavn, where it will be on display for the next year. We invite everyone to visit and experience this unique living space, and to share your thoughts on how we can continue to innovate and promote sustainable living.

Thank you once again to everyone involved in making Nest House a reality. Together, we are building a more sustainable future, one home at a time.
